Professional Career 1956-1966 – Researcher, Moscow Scientific and Design State Institute for Nitrogen Industry; 1966-1996 – Head of laboratory of Absorption methods for gas purification, Moscow Scientific and Design State Institute for Nitrogen Industry; Since 1982 – Full professor; 1996-present – vice Chief Editor of Russian Journal “Chemical industry today”; 2002-2006 – Leading author of Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) report at United Nations organization (Kyoto Protocol on Climate Change). Present Position - Leading scientist in A.V.Topchiev Institute of Petrochemical Synthesis, Russian Academy of Sciences. Fields of Interest Gas purification by absorption methods, energy resources saving chemical technology, chemical thermodynamics (especially gas solubility and practical application of Second Law of Thermodynamics ideas). Research Supervision 15 Ph.D.-students supervised. Awards and Personal Grants - Nobel Peace Prize (former US Vice President Al Gore) as member of IPCC. Publications More than 200 publications, more than 60 patents, 5 books in the area of chemical technology (“Handbook for Nitrogen Engineers” (1984), “Technology Gas Purification” (1969, 1977), “Energy Saving Chemical Technology” (1984) and “Second law and its 12 Commandments” (2002)). |
